Impressed by Agent F

Being impressed is one of the things which i am lack of, thus leading my days to be pretty dull at times. It is not about me thinking that i am all great or something, but it's more about the level that i seek in things, the insight, i might appreciate lots of things, but to be impressed, its quite a phenomenon.

Met a friend last year during the Nikko Hotel competition, she was a person who is humble to any comments and critics that is coming. With a person of her level, she still accepts things that other taught to her, even though basic, she is treating herself like a person who knows nothing, and therefore listens to whatever you say.

I've been talking to her for some time, and felt that i can learn a lot from her, but i didn't know that what she has hidden from me, what far more of what i had expected, thus the term "impressed" was used.I browsed around facebook for everyone's blog address yesterday and i happen to find her old gallery of pictures in devianart. Looking at the shot she has gotten last time, it was like a blast to my face, telling me that, Mike, i know you are always looking for advancement, but u should really buck up for now.

Shall i say, let the pictures do the talking this time, these are the chosen example of her photography work, ready to be blown away :)

We the Weed
"...as we in the post-modern era tend to inject meaning into the meaningless, this piece in particular highlights how concrete has become the weed in this world, invading every empty space left on the face of earth."
A High of Vitamin C
I say:I was wondering where is this, until i was told that its The Curve -_-
Colour of the Institution
"When our surroundings are shaped by the capitalist institution through relentless marketing drivel, individuality has to succumb."
Dear Departed
"It's a very neglected graveyard, seeing how people only return once a year from outstation to a far out place. But i'd like to think we still keep the memories of our departed ones close to our hearts."
Frozen Streaks
Pulau Redang, East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
"Went there with a group of friends there for a short vacation. somehow the malaysian coastals that i go to are more overcast than the advertised blue skies, or at least the last few that i've been to.this was taken on the final morning, its a break in a great swath of cloud that morning."
Petronas Twin Towers"took this at a golf course. clear and beautiful sky out. the bucket of (presumably) sand is for people to spell out in a safe and clean way, apart from its prize money, how unexciting golf is."

MERDEKA?
I say:The Malaysian Flag
Learning Curve II
A lil comments about this pic to share. This is another reason why i felt that there is a lot to learn from this friend of mine.

Visitor:I think it looks great. Now that you've mentioned it, I believe I can spot some areas where you did some of the dodging and burning, but it's only because I was looking for it and knew it had been done. Without thinking about it, I think it's very well hidden- it hadn't even occurred to me that some of those highlights would normally be lost in the dark shadow from the left side.

Agent F:im trying hard to go against purist tendencies to work on the photo. retouched photos couldn't ever be part of daily reality. it saddens me that raw beauty are touched up. just like humans in magazines.
this is just a fraction of the bigger happenings in photography.

Visitor:I love your insights and thoughtfulness towards the subject :) it's inspiring and exciting!

And the last pic of the day~
Unchained Melody
"touched by the indescribably sentimental tune of unchained melody, by righteous brothers."

Credits of all pics in this post goes to ~idyllis of devianart...(found out that this is a must nowadays)
