Banana

This post is to be viewed with an open mind, stating a point not as an argument but to share views to humanity, not a personal attack to any particular groups or people.:)

This terminology was used against those who were not able to study mandarin when he\she was young, indiscriminately by multiple occurrence like, parents choice, unavailability within region and so on. That term has been circulated in the Chinese community for some time, and i would like to put it into a deep analysis for today.

The utilization of this term 'banana' was created by the Chinese who have their mandarin education to diss the chinese people who never had the chance to learn mandarin or who were unable to speak mandarin. In short, it is created by the Chinese race to diss the Chinese race, how united. To put this term in a conceptual test, this term is best used against the breed of chinese who are over-indulged in the "external" culture, forgetting their roots, or worst, dissing back their own culture. The skin of a banana is yellow while the insides are white, i guess most of yall would know what that means, the heart which differs from their natural appearance.

Those who has love for their own culture and wanted to learn more was victimized in this process as well.It is because of the stereotype of typical Chinese who condemn rather than helping, therefore it has really set apart the unity within their own race.

Here are a few points to ponder.

1. A 'banana' talks bad about the Chinese culture, and tells how much he hates Chinese songs, movies and etc.

Typical chinese reaction :Shut up la banana!don't talk bad about MY people ok?

Salvatore:MY? so there IS a race called Banana Republic all along? The repulsive act of screwing back the ignorant lad above to defend your pride would only be temporary, as he would come back for more attacks and this war would never end.Why not transfer the effort which you put into this war, to make the ignorant bastard learn about what the culture really is? To find thier sense of belonging to thier race? To be dissed within your own race, most probably would make the person repels even more, and of course the alternatives for them is to blend into cultures which accepts them.Out of egoism, most chinese would say words like "we don't need this kind of people in our race", its not a need, they ARE a part of ur race whether u like it or not.

2.A 'banana' is trying to learn how to speak in mandarin, has a certain wierd accent.

Egoistic bastards:HAHAAHAHA, hey u know how to speak onot wan?if duno dont speak la BANANA!! hahahaha

Salvatore: I know that u've tried to speak languages out of your region and got dissed by certain ways, but how can a person improve when all they hear is people laughing at thier effort? Not everyone has a strong mentality and with the amount of people like you guys who goes on dissing others when they try to speak, how would this language grow? Why are you stopping the growth of your own mother tongue? Are you afraid of competition? Cowards?

3.Banana says, err, hehe sorry i can't really understand mandarin.

Typical chinese: OH SO URE A BANANA LA!!~~

Salvatore: Exageration of speech tone and reactions is one of the best clique in asia.Being loud in public is a norm and during introduction of yourself, one of your friends might come in and add on, ohya he/she's a banana. There are a certain group of people who accepted the fate to be called as such, or some just do not care anymore. But come to think about it, let's say there is a tiny lil spark of interest in a chinese cultural act by one of these people, and the existence of these party who likes to involve such entitlement to discourage them, how many sparks of flame would they blow away? and again, how would the culture grow? how does it benefit you, your society and your race?

Conclusion: Using terminologies against people without awareness would lead to a lot of unforeseen circumstances. The last question to you guys is, the term "banana" is basically applied on those who does not love their own race deep inside, but to apply it on Chinese culture lovers who lacks the knowledge about the language, where is this leading to?

Reflect & Think again.

For the shallow minded only: The heart to learn or the fluency in the language matters?? Without the heart to learn how to reach the stage of being fluent? With the existence of the egoistic party who stops this struggling pack who wants to learn, how would they ever be communicating with you on par?
