Sleeping irregularly from 2am -8 am and continued with 12pm-2pm makes me feels like i am living 2 days in 1. Also the fact that i've been oversleeping in, some days (11hours) leaves me with a sub-conscious state throughout the whole day.
Along this week, I've tried to push my schedule forward, trying to open a big time gap at the edge, in order to allocate space for amendments and touch ups.
The first step was, changing the pattern of my work flow. I used to rush for dissertation submissions after my Design Principles tutorial, followed by the design principle submission after the dissertation tutorial. What i found out, is that, this arrangement actually slows down the momentum of my work, and that each time i rush for something, it does not turn out to be self-satisfactory. Therefore, i started to tweak the process a little, (based on my short term memories) I start doing all the fixes of my dissertation right after the tutorial and same goes to the design principles progress. The result was, a greater momentum with ample space for details.
I started sketching on Monday morning , visualizing the atmosphere at every level, taking advantage of the natural lighting that is directly illuminating the building's interior and finally linking the exterior into the interior. At 1am, i realized that, there was a note in the schedule, pointing out the requirements for furniture layout and spatial function. I turned on my AutoCAD and started to draft till, 2 am.
With much readiness, on Tuesday, i walked in the tutorial like a zombie, placing my head horizontally on the table, anticipating my turn. It was a brief one that day, as most of the class mates were busy for the MSID competition and did a little less for this week's tutorial. I showed my sketches & model accompanied by the floor plan layout. The feedback was good, as i was given a direction to further improve. I was inspired with more ideas and opportunity to expand the details and character of the design. After tutorial, i spent some time with Jon, trying to get him out of the box, and at the same time, have some laughter moments with Anna @ BU8 Old Town .I met up with Miss Psycho at night, conversing about, mainly, psychology.Slept at 2am again that night.
Wednesday morning, was the Design Rules and Regulations lecture. It was considered as short and brief, but the informations that was given is enough to restrict most of designs, i assume. I find this lecture very helpful, as most of the research that i needed to do for the practicality of my design was all covered. This, again, saves me a lot of time, to resume with my progress.Grateful & thanks to Miss Huwi for this enlightenment. Had Roti Canai with my fellow Spartans (YL,Jon,Ady,HS & Ah Tung) at the Sri Mawar mamak that i missed so much. The food still taste as great. Went home and fall asleep at 2pm. At 5, i woke up and started deleting all the partitions and furniture in my space planning, and start to re-organize everything again. This is a necessary step in a space planning. If you were to be leaving all the lines of partitions in ur plan when u are trying to fix it, you are just restricting your mind, with a risk of coming out with the same layout in the end.Finished an slept at 2am that nite.
Thursday morning, i woke up with the false alarm that the dissertation tutorial was today. But the fact was,it only applies to the afternoon session. So i went back to sleep.(Yes, a pork stew indeed)It was considered a free time, as there was nothing i could do for dissertation(Finished on Last Saturday,Passed up on this Wednesday). So what i did was a full day research of architectural images and ideas that relates to my compact design approach.Slept at 12am that day.
FIABCI talk, finally came this FRIDAY, well, without the Ang Moh Architect, maybe because of the failed attempt of April Fools last year which pissed him of, converting the whole incident to an awkward one for everyone, and as a collection in my Epilogue of Black Humour.
That morning shined with a glow of hope, as my dissertation curse was finally free.I was haunted by Miss Huwi's spell (Mike, after 3 weeks, i don't think you get what i am telling you) and suffered quite a severe trauma everytime i place the file in then Staff Room. The good news is, I am just "a few footnotes" away from completing my dissertation this week. Combining my analysis and case studies, and write a full page conclusion, and im done for it.The feedback totally refreshes the mind this time.
FIABCI's food this year, has more variety, but the amount seem to be not sufficient for the hungry creatures in the class. For instance, Sara and Jon, one was complaning bout the amount and the other one was complaning about the taste. On the contrary, me & YL who is critically sensitive about food taste and quality , ate the food without a single complain. The talk was like a converting students to the "Green Religion" in order to lengthen the time before the apocalypse.
Before i forget, i like Jon's new look.It has a very attractive feature and metrosexual feel to it.Good luck with the people who are going to approach you soon bud. It was a little disappointing, that i was not able to attend his performance at Sunway coz of the clashes of programme(my bad) that i had with my secondary school mates. I was so surprised to see Pei Jun in front of my house without a single direction from me. That night was a memory that i will keep, a long lost feeling, of me and my secondary school friends.I was sketching my facade design whenever i could that night, even during the chat which lasted till 3am.
Next day was egg sandwich for SATURDAY morning! It's been some time i didn't feel such stuffiness during the day.
After cracking off some poker and blackjack game, Pei Jun sent me back home. Again, i was impressed because she did not refer to anything at all. My mind is telling me that i need a rest from work today, and as a result, i stopped doing anything, and took a short nap at 2pm before going out at 4pm. So i met up with Agent Gummy at The Curve for a short talk, since it's been a while that we've not met. Complementing the dark skies, was the heavy rain which kept me stuck in The Curve for an extra 1 hour. I went to the BORDERS, and i never realized that it was a haven of interior architecture sources!! Just that they are all wrapped up in plastic -_-. I took a Michael Jackson biography book for leisure instead. My conclusion was, the awards, contributions, showmanship, pioneerism, and acheivement of a great man, can end up being ignored, and condemned and eliminated at just a single mistake. Leads to a sheeple theory of, the more popular you are, the more unforgivable your mistakes are.and the only time people are going to love you again is after when you are gone.A sad fact, that comes in a "Sheeple" form. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheeple)
After returning the biography to the rack, i decided to ignore the drizzle and head to saito without a fizzle.(Lolxwtf). I was glad that i am not too late, to witness the splendid performance from my fellow year one friends. Kent & Mohsen was one of the outstanding casts in my previous EMW3 video, and they did not disappoint me at all this time. With much independence, the Year 1s, come out with a hilarious plot of time travel sequels with elements that keeps you entertained throughout the show. Watch.
After the award ceremony, i realized that the only meal i had that day was breakfast O_O. Unable to withstand the hunger, i made a quick ride from PJ State to Subang II. It was one of the best ride i ever had :p Mom's Curry Chicken Rice was scrumptious that night, with aroma that feeds the soul, and taste that melts the heart. Slept at 2am again T_T
Sunday. I woke up at 1pm today. That's 11 hours of sleep. damn.
